Interesting web site. I was researching the brand name Rutherford as it was sold along with RCA and other brands at my dad's business. Come to find out as I did not know that it was a secondary brand of Curtis Mathis. Also looking through some of you pictures was interested to see the RCA set in late 80's sold as Curtis Mathis. That very distinct nearly flat tube and sleek slender controls at side of tube. I had that 27" RCA with the ahead of it's time direct access remote and jack panel in back that had advanced EIA interface jack that never came to much if any use. Overall though the many, many overzealous statement about what was made by CM is a bunch of lies. The best made stereo? (In era not even close to Fisher or Ampex. Cassette deck, made by Fisher. Come on people , a good maker of solid equipment but not the Holy Grail and hype or misinformation all over this blob!

What is the chassis number of the 1959 - Thomas Eric Little?
http://www.curtis-mathes.com/1959mathesstereophonic.htm

I also have a 1959 console - the service card stapled to the inside of the cabinet indicates it is a 1309 AD (Cherry)
I think they may use the same amp. the front control panels look exactly the same. its a Push Pull 6bq5
Thank you
Matthew.

I am happy to have found this site. CM wow what a history. I grew up with my mother & fathers purchase of the Royal Dane 912D, with matching book case (912BK) and B/W Television (156-23W). The TV still works today. Speakers have deteriorated and the speaker grill has pulled away. Couple of questions. Is their someone whom can restore, the cost? pricing if I sold as is or after being restored. The stereo is amazing, it would shake the walls in the house...Curious Owner. I do have pics available...MARK

I have a 19" Curtis Mathes TV on a pedestal that I bought around 1981-1982. I do not use it anymore, but the last time I did, the picture still looked great. It had some issues with the volume cutting out, though.

I have a Curtis mathis fan on 4 legs, adjustable wood slats in oerfect condition. It's exactly like the one featured on this website. It's 4 speed and works perfectly. Any idea it's value?

Hello. I just scored a 1961 Royal Dane. But...the tuner knob is stuck (dial cord not connected - and who knows what else is wrong; and the record player isn't working either - so I have some work to do). I have the original manual for the Record Player (which includes a parts list), but I do not have any information about the Tuner. Do you, or any of your members have it? I'd love a copy, and will pay a reasonable price, or even trade for a copy of the Record Player Manual. Any help you can give me is much, much appreciated.

How am I able to get my mom's video tape out of my Curtis Mathes Monitor VCR (the model of it is AV132)? A video tape is stuck inside my mom's VCR (I tried to use the eject button to get it out , but it didn't work). How do I get it out?
